BROOKVILLE, IN – Nine co-ed teams will come together on Saturday, September 11 to flex their softball skills and show Franklin County that recovery is possible – and fun! The 1st Annual Rally for Recovery Softball Tournament will be held at the Brookville Town Park starting at 8 a.m. and lasting into the evening. Anyone is welcome to watch for free.

Concessions will be available for purchase, and there will be a silent auction. The community is welcome to join a grill out at 5 p.m., and event participants will share recovery stories. The last game will start at 6 p.m.

Nonprofit organization Choices Coordinated Care Solutions is partnering with Stayin’ Alive Franklin County to host the events. The Choices Emergency Response Team (CERT) provides free recovery support to Southeastern Indiana residents who are struggling with substance use. Stayin’ Alive Franklin County, an Indiana Local Coordinating Council, creates awareness about substance use prevention and treatment. Donations from the event will go toward supporting the two groups.

“We want everyone to know that they are worthy of support,” says Jenilee Collins, a CERT Recovery Support Specialist. “And recovery does not have to be boring! There are so many exciting things to do, and you can tap into a community of positive people willing to help you on your journey.”

Health and wellness, including social support and being active, are often key to sustaining long-term recovery. Events like this are an opportunity for the Franklin County community to rally in a joyful way while encouraging each other.
