“Many of the SOC communities have found it challenging to (a) get the child welfare system to the table—that is, to be part of the planning process—and (b) find effective ways to keep them at the table and engaged. This Issue Brief discusses the benefits of collaboration with the child welfare system, the barriers to be overcome, and the key issues for consideration when collaborating with the child welfare system. It also presents examples of effective approaches that were used by seven SOC communities to keep them moving toward successful collaborations.”
